Can a Chiropractor Help with Sports Injuries? A leading Chiropractor in Southend thinks so

Sporting activity is a great way to spend your spare time. Honing your skills, getting fit and socialising with your friends is all very positive. There are very few downsides to playing a sport but one of them is pretty big, sporting injuries.

Sporting injuries can cause people a lot of pain and issues in later life and it is therefore important we look after ourselves in this regard. There are a few things we can do to help us look after ourselves and the most important one is to reduce the chance of a sporting injury. As an expert chiropractor in Southend I believe by staying fit, stretching/warming up and knowing your limits we can avoid a lot of injuries.

Prevention is all well and good but sometimes there is no avoiding a sporting injury and treatment will be needed. Being a leading chiropractor in Southend I often get asked advice from patients in this area and as a chiropractor I can certainly offer advice and help you recover from your injury.

Broadly speaking, sports injuries can be classified as either traumatic or overuse type injuries. Traumatic injuries are usually caused in contact type sports such as football or rugby.

Overuse injuries are sustained as a result of repetitive actions being undertaken. This type of injury is common amongst runners, cyclists, people who do yoga, as well as those playing sports like golf, tennis or bowling

The treatment for any sporting injury will depend upon the degree of damage sustained by the patient and the type of injury sustained. We also take into account the patient’s age.

After a visit to my chiropractic clinic in Witney we would assess you and start you on a recovery programme using our knowledge and expertise.

If you have any sporting injuries please get in touch with us as we offer a lot of help and advice to get you back up and running as soon as possible. Contact us on 01702 430430 or email us at info@CliffsChiro.co.uk to get in touch.

Ahh So Pretty! Our Front Office Team at Cliffs Chiropractor Southend

the front office team at Cliffs Chiropractor SouthendIf you ever wondered what it takes to work as part of the front office team at the clinic, here’s a clue, smile and be happy!

Lisa, Gill, Sue and Sarah all completed the 2014 Southend Twilight Colourthon on Saturday 5th of July and are on course to raise £1,000 for Havens Hospice.

Thank you so much to all our fantastic patients for their generous donations and cheering support on route.

Arif did suggest the tu’tus could be adopted as part of the uniform. Can we have a show of patient hands for all in favour?!

Dev had something to share when he lasted visited Cliffs Chiropactor Southend

chiropractic for children at Cliffs Chiropractor SouthendWhen 4 year old Dev came to see Arif a few weeks ago, he presented with a left arm and leg that failed to move correctly and caused him to repeatedly fall when he tried to run or walk fast.

The result was he had lost the confidence to run and wouldn’t play energetically with other children.

Arif was able to identify the cause of his problem which required both a chiropractic and nutritional approach.

When Dev burst into our clinic in early July, his bright little face couldn’t wait to tell Arif all his news.

The previous day he had the confidence to run in his school sports day and came first! How fantastic is that.. we were all crying with joy.

Treating and working with young children is not always easy but the amazing results I so often experience make it one of the most rewarding treatments on offer in the clinic.

It is better to light one candle than curse the darkness. You never know how much you think say or do today can effect the lives of millions tomorrow…

Did you know that youngsters and teenagers are at risk of neck and back pain as a result of their sedentary lifestyles and excessive use of technology?
