Come and see Paz – Mary W’s story about Cliffs Chiropractor Southend

We have had many patients here at Cliffs Chiropractor Clinic near Southend, suffering from back pain and neck pain amongst other concerns.

Mary W first heard about our Chiropractor Southend through two friends whose relatives were regular patients at the clinic.

Mary had been suffering from sciatica for a while and was getting the odd twinge, when one morning she couldn’t get out of bed. The pain was so bad that she couldn’t put her foot on to the ground and ended up in tears. Mary then decided that it was time to do something about it.

Mary immediately got in touch with the clinic and in a few days had her first appointment. Since receiving treatment at our Chiropractor Southend Mary has had no more pain and says to everyone “Go and see Paz!”

20 minutes of walking a day can add years to your life. Cliffs Chiropractor Southend shares results from recent study

Our lives are becoming a lot more sedentary, with many of us living what is called a ‘couch potato’ lifestyle and this lack of exercise could be detrimental to our health. As a leading Southend Chiropractor I would like to share this advice on why it is important to keep active.

A recent report has said that a brisk walk every day could add years onto you life. The study found that even a modest amount of activity prolonged life. Even if you just walk for 20 minutes a day it could cut the risk of premature death by nearly a third. The obese can expect a 16 per cent reduced risk of dying early.

Although the study found that just 20 minutes of exercise could help your health, ideally you should be aiming to do more. There have been many health benefits to people who take part in regular physical activity. In Europe, overall, 676,000 deaths could be blamed on inactivity.

New government guidelines have advised Britons to do around 150 minutes of exercise each week. This can include gardening, running, dancing, walking and playing sports. You can also become more active when doing daily tasks, such as walk up stairs instead of using the lift and walking instead of using the car. A brisk 20-minute walk can burn between 90 and 110 calories.

As a Southend Chiropractor, we advise you all to get moving!

In the last two weeks alone, three patients who Dr Arif Soomro has treated through their pregnancies have all given birth naturally, without intervention or stress to mother or child.

Today, many women are reaching out for other methods of treatment during pregnancy, as painkillers are not enough for the lower back and pelvis pain that they get. Have a Merry Christmas from Cliffs Chiropractor Southend and keep your back safe over the holidays

The team at Cliffs Chiropractor Southend would like to wish everyone a very happy and healthy Christmas.

We are all looking forward to relaxing in front of the fire with a good film and eating lots of turkey and mince pies! At Christmas, we know lots of people will be wanting to do the same; watching lots of television. And being a leading Southend Chiropractor, we would like to share this advice on how to keep your back safe whilst watching lots of Christmas TV:

  •  Try not to sit for more than 30-40 minutes at a time. Take a break to stand up and stretch or maybe take a quick walk around the house
  • If you are sitting in a chair, make sure that your feet are flat on the ground, with your knees bent, with a slope from your hips to your knees
  • Whilst watching TV, the tendency is to ‘slouch’. Try to let the seat take your whole weight and if possible try to keep as much of your body in contact with the seat
  • If you have lots of TV time scheduled over Christmas, try to schedule in some exercise time too. A walk through the park or just around the block with keep your body moving
  • Keep hydrated. Try to drink lots of water especially if you will be drinking lots of mulled wine

Whatever you are all doing this Christmas we hope you have fun!
