Emma Sheehan, who works in the beauty industry loved her work and when she became a partner at Health & Harmony, a beauty salon in Leigh, she thought all her dreams had come true. However, after many years of working she was in jeopardy of having to give it all up until on the advice of her brother she visited Cliffs.

Emma was treated by Arif at Cliffs. Arif says “It was clear that Emma’s work position had contributed to a 50 per cent wear in the mid cervical spine. This, and poor posture, had led to a loss of the normal forward neck curve, resulting in a stooping upper back, neck stiffness and weak supportive musculature.”
Arif was confident that she would respond well to a combined approach of chiropractic and acupuncture. The pain would ease fairly quickly but it would take time of course to fix the root cause by strengthening the area, improving her posture and altering her work and lifestyle.
“After just two weeks the numbness and the pain in my arm, due to a trapped nerve, had completely disappeared, and so had the headaches,” said Emma. “One year on I wake up refreshed and full of energy. I can work all day without getting stiff – although a little stiffness is inevitable in my job, and I’m walking taller because my posture’s better.”

Stuart was one such person but since Arif helped “fix” his back he’s changed his mind completely.
It was 1984 and Melanie was in her final year of the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic. There was a local pub the students frequented and one autumn evening Arif was quietly sitting at a table with friends when there was a commotion- a girl had been unceremoniously grabbed and held upside down by some male ‘’friends” kicking someone’s drink over on the way.
Paz says “Believe it or not, I met my wife through a blind date set up by my uncle and his financial advisor (now my father-in-law)! I had just recently graduated and thought it would be fun.

If you suffer from chronic pain, you will know the frustration that can occur on a daily basis. For some patients, chronic pain can arouse even stronger emotional reactions such as anxiety and fear. According to our leading chiropractor in Southend, chronic pain is highly influenced by the way in which an individual’s brain processes pain signals. This means that to a certain extent, the brain has the ability to manage and even decrease pain through breathing, focusing and imagery techniques, which can be used alongside chiropractic and other treatments.
